My Hero

SHINJI KAGAWA

Shinji Kagawa is a Japanese hero. He is the first Japanese football player to play for
top-flight football team Manchester United. Yes, he is a big star in Manchester now but what makes him my hero?

Firstly, I have been a fan of him for a long time, since he was playing in an minor football team in Japan. I have always watched him play from when he was still an unknown player. I always had a feeling that one day maybe he could be playing in a big club like Manchester united. Watching him play was something very enjoyable. But this is not the only reason. Just because he is a great player does not make him any kind of a hero...

He is truly an hero because he has persevered and has an great ambition to become the great player that he is now. When very young he has left his family to play football and strive to become a professional footballer. This to me is a great challenge. I couldn't imagine living alone before graduating. It must have been a really hard life for him. Nobody to rely on but himself...

Another challenge he faced was going to Germany after 2-3 years in an Japanese minor club. This must have been the challenge of his life. He had never been to any foreign country before and of course he had never spoken an word of German. He also was only 22 when going. It must have been difficult with nobody to really talk to. Alone without his family...

But after fighting all these big challenges he has finally got the fruit out of it. Now he is a world known footballer. But I know it was all because him persevering his dreams...
